Mahdi Aminian was born in Tehran, Iran. He received the bachelor degree (BSc) in Computer Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT), Tehran, Iran, in 2006, and the master degree (MSc) in Computer Architecture from the same university in 2008.

In 2009, he joined AQUA (Advanced Quantum Architecture) group at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, as doctoral assistant. He received his Ph.D. degree from Electrical Engineering Department in December 2014.

Since 2015 he has been a member of the Computer Engineering Department at Guilan University, Rasht, Iran. His research interests include Image sensors and Photodetector devices, Embedded systems and Digital Systems Design, VLSI Physical Design, and VLSI Systems.



Ph.D: Electrical Engineering, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland.

Thesis Title: Ultra-Low-Temperature Silicon and Germanium-on-Silicon Avalanche Photodiodes: Modeling, Design, and Characterization

 

M.Sc: Computer Architecture Engineering, Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Tehran, Iran.

Final Thesis: Emulation of Quantum Circuits with FPGA

 

B.Sc: Computer Engineering, Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Tehran, Iran.

Final Project: Designing Memory Interface Module (MIM) for MPC8280 Microprocessor by VHDL
